Tilikum Crossing Bridge

Parkin Engineering designed the bridge form travelers that were used for construction of the majority of the overwater bridge deck.  The main spans were over the Willamette River, and connected the east and west banks of the river with the two 180-ft towers. The construction contractor, Kiewit Corporation, owned a steel form traveler system that required extensive modifications, designed by Parkin Engineering, in order for it to work with the new bridge.  A few of the atypical modifications designed for this bridge were engineered to account for a thinner than normal bridge deck for a form traveler and to avoid obstructions from the permanent and temporary cable stays.  Parkin Engineering provided proof calculations, full drawings (assembly, engineering, and shop) and construction services.
